New Appointments for York Office
LEADING Independent Insurance Broker, The Insurance Partnership (TIP), has recruited one of North Yorkshire’s longest serving industry professionals as part of its ongoing expansion programme in York.
Bob Blackburn, who has notched up more than 40 years experience in the industry, has been appointed as Associate Director of The Insurance Partnerships' office in Monks Cross, to help drive the growth of the office.
Bob started his career in 1968 in Harrogate and has worked in the town ever since, serving a range of sectors, in particular agriculture, haulage and the motor industry.
He is joined in York by Nick Savage, recently recruited by TIP as a key commercial account handler, who brings the total number of staff at the office to 18.
Further jobs are expected to be created in the city over the coming months, as TIP continues along its growth strategy. Bob said he had decided to join the company because there was a strong synergy between his existing clients and those of TIP.
“I am now in my fifth decade as an insurance broker and over that time have built up a very loyal customer base,” he said. “A number of my clients have been with me for more than 30 years now because I’m fastidious in my service of their accounts. In this respect, there are parallels not just between the types of clients we retain, but also in our core values. It is for those reasons I am delighted to be working with TIP.”
Stuart Brierley, Associate Director who manages TIP in York, said it was an exciting time for the company as it continued to gain further footholds in the York market.
He said: “York has a vibrant business community which we are proud to have been a part of for more than a decade. As a Yorkshire company, the city is very important to us. That is precisely why we have decided to expand our commercial team here. Bob’s appointment is quite a coup for TIP. Put simply, he is the most experienced insurance broker in North Yorkshire and it is extremely gratifying that he has chosen to work with us.”
Nick Savage, who brings 14 years experience in the insurance industry to TIP, added: “There is a great team spirit in York, which is unlike anywhere else I have worked. I’m sure this will get stronger as the office continues to expand.”
